Great idea, you're so right, Ikea is a great mini inspiration with their clean and simple design! I love Ikea too, and have half of my real home filled with Ikea :-)
Patrizia Santi makes Ikea furniture in 1:12 for sale. If you click on her name you should see the picture I took of her stand at SIMP. She also have a flickr page with pictures of her work. I love the piece I bought at SIMP, just haven't had time to make a setting with it yet.

Thanks for the links Helene - I've seen some of her work, it's really great.

Mercedes, just to make you feel a little 'greener' a HUGE new Ikea store is soon to be built next to the airport, just 15 mins from where I live ;)

Thanks for the link, Norma, even though I think you're being cruel to us ikealess kiwis!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you...After looking around your site how could I possibly even think about getting rid of the doll house now! This just brought back all the reason and excitement that I had when I bought it in the first place...Thank You!!! Will keep you posted as to how things are going.. Actually going to be a while before I can get started but it will happen!

I am having a giveaway at my site, Scrapping With Sherry if you would like to come by and enter your name, favorite craft book, author and why it is your favorite in the post marked for the giveaway. Would love to have you!

I saw your post on Mini Pig's blog, but thought I'd post here too.

The kitchen set with the gas stove top is still on ebay for $33.99
cgi.ebay.com/1-12-Dollhouse-Furniture-Miniature-Modern-Kitchen-/300302791605?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0#ht_4739wt_958. It includes the fridge packed full of food and drinks. I have photos and description of all the contents on my blog here: modernminihouses.blogspot.com/2010/04/modern-kitchens-for-30-60.html.
For the price I think it is worth it, although I have seen just the kitchen unit without the fridge and goodies on ebay for cheaper, but that was awhile ago.
:)

PS. I was just at IKEA today. It's a great place to bring the kids and I always walk away with something fun. I feel so lucky its only a 20 minute drive.

Tis a great idea indeed! For me I can't imagine modern minis, I love the look of old things more than anything.

Norma--thanks for your kind words about Head and heart. You have a beautiful blog. I particularly like the picture as you begin. I feel that though our spineless politicians are scared of the tea party...I don't think they should be. President Obama inherited a mess. The Republicans are bound and determined to make sure none of his dreams come true. I feel like this will back fire. I also feel that the Tea Party is going to royally mess things up if they don't get their way and who knows what that is. Hang in there and thanks for reading. Roger Lovette rogerlovette.blogspot.com
